Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.
There are stories we tell the world… and then there are the untold chapters. This is one of mine.
Dear 100-year-old Shannon, this letter represents my reflections to my self at 100 years old.
If you are reading this one day, I hope you are sitting somewhere peaceful—maybe in a garden full of flowers, watching the sun rise the way you always loved to do. I hope your heart is still full of faith, and that your smile still carries the same warmth it does today.
Right now, I’m writing this as the younger version of you. I’m still learning, still growing, still figuring out life one day at a time. Some days are beautiful, and some days are hard. But every day I try to become a better woman than I was yesterday. This letter captures my hopes for my 100-year-old self in the future.
I wonder what your life looks like at 100 years old.
Did we accomplish the dreams we once prayed about, Did the blog grow into something that helped people heal? Did the words we wrote reach someone who felt alone?
I hope so.
I hope you look back and remember the moments that mattered most not the stress or the worries, but the love. The laughter with the kids. The quiet mornings with coffee. The nights of prayer when you gave your fears to God. With love this letter reaches out across decades to my 100-year-old self.
I hope you remember that we kept going even when life felt heavy.
Right now, I’m working hard to build a life you’ll be proud of. I’m learning to forgive, to grow, and to let go of things that once tried to break me. I’m choosing faith over fear and hope over doubt.
And if you made it to 100, then that means one thing we survived every storm that once felt impossible. Reaching my 100-year-old self is the purpose behind writing this letter.
So if you’re sitting there reading this, I hope you smile and whisper back to me through time:
“You did it, Shannon. You kept going.”
And that was always enough.
What I Learned
Sometimes writing a letter for your future, such as a note to your 100-year-old self, reminds you that life isn’t about being perfect. It’s about continuing the journey, growing through every chapter, and trusting that the person you become will thank you for the choices you make today.
My story isn’t perfect, but it’s real—and I’m still standing, still growing, and still becoming.
Bible Verse
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
