The Beauty in Me I See — A Poem of Self-Love & Becoming

Poem: The Beauty in Me I See

I used to hide behind the mask,
Afraid to let my true self bask.
But now I rise with eyes so clear,
The beauty in me draws me near.

Not just my face, though soft and bright,
But strength I carry day and night.
The love I give, the words I speak,
The way I rise when I feel weak.

These curves, this skin, this heart so wide,
Hold stories that I no longer hide.
I bloom through storms, I shine through pain,
With every tear, I grow again.

I see a queen who’s learned to bend,
But never break on self she depends.
I’m art, I’m grace, I’m fire, I’m free
That’s the beauty I now see in me.

Why I Wrote This Poem

I wrote this poem because for too long, we as women have been trained to shrink, dim, and disguise our light.
To hide the parts of ourselves that are loud, soft, complicated, powerful, emotional, and divine.

There comes a moment when you finally stop apologizing for being yourself.
A moment when your reflection stops feeling like a stranger
and starts looking like a masterpiece in progress.

“The Beauty in Me I See” is about reclaiming every piece of you
your curves, your strength, your softness, your story, your scars, your fire.
It’s about looking in the mirror and seeing not flaws, but evidence:
evidence of survival, growth, grace, and glory.

This is a poem of arrival.
A poem of self-recognition.
A poem for the woman who finally sees herself clearly
and loves what she sees.

Motivation of the Day

Never dim the light that God placed inside you.
Your beauty is not just seen — it is felt, lived, carried, and earned.

Bible Verse

Psalm 139:14
“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Your reflection is not a mistake it is God’s intentional art.

What I Learned

I learned that self-love isn’t born in perfection.
It blossoms in the moments you choose yourself again
after being broken, doubted, overlooked, or misunderstood.

The beauty you see today is the strength you built yesterday.
