✨ The Girl I Used to Know — A Poem of Healing & Freedom

Girl I used to know,
I see you staring back, soft and slow.
Eyes filled with memory, tender and true,
Whispering how does freedom look on you?

The girl I used to be,
I look in the mirror and finally see
She freed her mind, her body, her soul,
No longer broken, she’s finally whole.

She walked through the Garden of Healing,
Where faith replaced her wounded feeling.
Among the petals, pain, and rain,
She bloomed in light, released her chain.

Now she stands, graceful and strong,
Knowing this is where she belongs.
Yes, she’s here
The girl she used to be…
has finally found peace within me. 🌸

Why I Wrote This Poem

I wrote this because healing isn’t just a moment it’s a journey, a quiet blooming. This ‘girl I used to be’ poem reflects the woman I am today finally meeting that girl… and choosing to love her.

It’s about freedom after surviving battles nobody saw. It’s about faith after seasons that tried to break me. This poem embodies the healing essence of the girl I used to be.

This poem is my reminder that healing is real, softness is strength, and the past no longer owns me.
Not now. Not ever.

Motivation of the Day

You don’t have to become someone new to heal
you just have to return to the version of you that never stopped believing you could rise.

Bible Verse

Psalm 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

What I Learned

I learned that healing happens in layers.
That the ‘girl I used to be’ deserves grace, not judgment. The insights from my ‘girl I used to be’ poem taught me that freedom feels like coming home to myself again.
