The quiet release that helped me breathe, heal, and move forward
There are stories we tell the world… and then there are the untold chapters. This is one of mine
Good afternoon my beautiful readers,
Today is Feel It, Then Release It Friday, and I want to talk about something real… something I had to face within myself.
👉 Letting go of what was slowing me down.
Not people.
Not situations.
But the things inside of me that I kept holding onto… thinking I needed them.
🌿 Letting Go of Emotional Weight That Was Holding Me Back
Sometimes we don’t realize that the very thing slowing us down… is something we refuse to release.
For me, it wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t obvious.
It was quiet,
looked like,
- Overthinking everything
- Holding onto past hurt
- Replaying old conversations
- Questioning my worth
- Carrying guilt that God already forgave me for
And I had to be honest with myself…
That weight was slowing me down.
Not physically.
But mentally… emotionally… spiritually.
💭 Storytime: The Moment I Realized I Was My Own Delay
There was a moment recently where I just sat in silence.
No phone.
No distractions.
Just me and my thoughts.
And I started thinking about everything I’ve been through…
The pain.
The growth.
The lessons.
And then it hit me…
I wasn’t stuck because of my past…
I was stuck because I kept holding onto it.
Whew…
That realization hurt.
Because it meant I had a choice.
Either keep carrying it…
Or finally let it go.
And that’s when I made a decision.
Not a loud one.
Not something I posted.
But something deep within me.
👉 “I’m not carrying this version of me into my next chapter.”
✨ Letting Go to Grow – Choosing Healing Over Holding On
Letting go is not easy.
Nobody really talks about that part.
Because letting go means:
- Accepting what happened
- Releasing control
- Trusting God with the unknown
- Walking forward without all the answers
But here’s what I’m learning…
You can’t grow into who God is calling you to be if you’re still holding onto who you used to be.
And that right there changed everything for me.
📖 Bible Verse That Spoke to Me
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” – Isaiah 43:18-19

That verse reminded me that God isn’t asking me to carry my past…
He’s asking me to trust Him with my future.
💬 Motivational Quote
“Some things aren’t meant to be fixed… they’re meant to be released.”
🌱 What Letting Go Looks Like for Me Now
Letting go didn’t mean I forgot everything.
It meant:
- I stopped letting it control me
- I stopped attaching my identity to my pain
- I stopped holding onto things God already told me to release
And most importantly…
I gave myself permission to move forward.
Not perfectly.
But freely.
❓ Question for You
What is something you’ve been holding onto…
that you know deep down is slowing you down?

🙏 A Moment of Reflection
God,
I come to You with everything I’ve been holding onto…
The pain, the memories, the weight I was never meant to carry alone.
Teach me how to release what no longer serves me.
Give me the strength to trust You with my next chapter.
Help me walk forward lighter, freer, and closer to who You created me to be.
Amen.
My story isn’t perfect, but it’s real and I’m still standing, still growing, and still becoming.
🌼 One Last Thought Before You Go
Life is full of chapters we don’t always understand while we’re living them. But I’m learning that sometimes the most powerful stories come from the moments we thought would break us.
And if there’s one thing I’ve realized, it’s this: every season of life has a lesson waiting inside of it.
So here’s something I want you to think about today:
What is one moment in your life that changed the way you see yourself?
I would love to hear your story in the comments. Your experience might be the encouragement someone else needs today.
And if this message spoke to you, make sure you come back tomorrow… because I’ll be sharing another chapter of “The Untold Truth.”
Until next time,
